One of the services famous all over the world, both among devotees and the general public is prasadam distribution. Anyone who has tasted it, became astonished by how wonderful simple preparations may be. Many people ask: “How do you prepare it, how do you achieve such taste? I have cooked myself from the recipe found in your book, but it just wasn’t the same.” So the secret lies in Krishna. Food which has not been offered to Krishna, even if cooked in a most professional manner will be bereft of spiritual potency which is present in Krishna prasadam. Thus prasadam distribution shouldn’t be mistakenly taken as food distribution to help the poor. The Hare Krishna movement is meant for the purification of the heart of all people, and as such “Prasadam Seva” is the easy way to achieve this goal. Following strictly the mood, instruction and mission of Srila Prabhupada, ISKCON has made one of it’s aims to profusely distribute Krishna prasadam all over the world helping everyone, the rich and the poor alike, to make progress towards spiritual advancement.

The Founder-Acharya of ISKCON, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada said: “The temple should be always filled up with Krishna-katha (discourses about Krishna from Srimad-Bhagavatam and Bhagavad-gita) and distribution of Krishna prasadam. If you eat Krishna prasadam, then gradually you become spiritualized, it has this potency. The spiritual master encourages distribution of prasadam to the public. Ours is not a dry philosophy-simply talk and go away. No. We distribute prasadam, very sumptuous prasadam. In every temple, we offer prasadam to anyone who comes.”

In the past 30 years, ISKCON has distributed 36, 25, 00,000 plates of prasadam all over the world. Every second, 2 plates of prasadam are being distributed somewhere in the world.

Furthermore, to feed devotees sumptuous prasadam is an auspicious activity. If you would like to sponsor a Sunday Feast, to commemorate a special occasion (like Birthday or Marriage anniversary) or just in general.
